Forest Lake City Council

The Forest Lake City Council is composed of a mayor and four councilmembers who are elected at large. The Mayor serves a two-year term of office and the Councilmembers serve four-year staggered terms. The City Council legislates for the city and sets administrative policy.  The City Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of the month and holds a workshop on the third Monday of the month.  

*A quorum of the City Council is possible at all Board and Commission Meetings

2025 -26 City Council

BR 2Blake Roberts, Mayor

Mayor Blake Roberts was elected to the Mayoral seat in 2024 after being elected as Councilmember in 2022. He serves on the EDA and Fire Board and as the Council liaison to the Airport Commission. 

Mayor Roberts will serve a 2-year term through 2026.

  4. Councilmember Valento was first elected to the City Council in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. She has been designated as the Acting Mayor and also serves as Council Liaison to the Cable Commission, and Parks and Recreation Commission.

  5. Councilmember Valento will serve a 4-year term through 2028.

  6. Leif EricksonLeif Erickson, Councilmember

    Councilmember Leif Erickson was elected to the City Council in 2022 and serves on the EDA and Fire Board. In addition, Leif serves as the Council Liaison to the Comfort Lake / Forest Lake Watershed District.

    Councilmember Erickson will serve a 4-year term through 2026.

    Councilmember Jeff Larson was elected to the City Council in 2024. Jeff also serves on the Fire Board and as Council Liaison to the Planning Commission.

    Councilmember Larson will serve a 4-year term through 2028.

    Kevin MillerKevin Miller, Councilmember

  8. Councilmember Kevin Miller was appointed to the City Council in February, 2025 and to fill the 2022 - 2026 Council term previously held by Mayor Roberts. Kevin also serves as liaison to the Forest Lake Area School Board. 
  9. Councilmember Miller will serve on the Council through 2026.
